Upcoming Training in Tallinn: Russia’s Current Affairs
CEURUS will be holding a training course on Russia’s Current Affairs for public servants in Tallinn, Estonia from 27 September until 1 October, 2021.
The course offers a series of classes covering the most topical issues in domestic and foreign policy agendas. Each of the lectures focuses on certain trends or events related to Russian internal or external affairs, and discusses them from the broader political, economic or cultural perspectives. School participants will therefore receive updates on practical aspects of current Russian policies in specific areas, as well as will be engaged in discussions on long-term implications of these policies for Russia, Estonia, the EU and NATO.
The course offers a series of lectures covering the most topical issues in domestic and foreign policy agendas and every day focus on different clusters of Russian current affairs.
Day 1: Twenty Years in Power: Domestic Transformations in Russia and the Evolution of Putin’s Regime
Day 2: Russia’s Memory Politics: Domestic and Foreign Policy Reverberations
Day 3: The Geopolitics of Russia’s ‘Near Abroad’
Day 4: Russia – EU: from a Visa-Free Blueprint to COVID-19 and Border Lockdown
Day 5: Political Mobilization in Russia and the Future of Putin’s Regime
The course is organized by the Centre for Eurasian and Russian Studies (CEURUS) and Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies at the University of Tartu.
The study language is English, therefore a good command of English at level B1-B2 is recommended.
