ABVK Network
Akadeemiline Balti-Vene Uuringute Keskus (ABVK) is a network of Estonian experts, practitioners, academics and students who share an interest in the Russian Federation and developments in Baltic-Russian relations. Launched in 1997, the ABVK maintains an active e-mail list that serves as a forum for the exchange of information and ideas. It has a number of other working formats, including the monthly Tartu meetings with invited experts (in Russian). ABVK issues weekly podcasts featuring interviews and commentaries, and publishes short-term prognoses about Russian domestic politics and external relations, as well as quarterly thought-papers. The working languages of the ABVK network are Estonian and Russian. In 2011, the ABVK network was integrated with the Centre for EU-Russia Studies as a project targeting the local expert community.
The webpage of the ABVK network is available here (in Estonian).
The project is led by Karmo Tüür.
