Public lecture
Press release — 15 March 2013
Professor Kim Talus from the University of Eastern Finland in Joensuu will give a public lecture entitled
EU’S INTERNAL MARKET FOR NATURAL GAS: NEW CHALLENGES
(view entire lecture on UTTV)
on April 1, 2013, 14.15-15.45 in Lossi 36, room 103.
Kim Talus is Professor of European Law and Editor in Chief of “Oil, Gas, Energy Law Intelligence.” He will address the new market paradigm of the European gas sector. By 2014, European member states must attain a fully liberalized internal gas market. What does it mean in terms of European law? What is the future of gas supply contracts and indexation to oil price? What are the challenges faced by European gas companies? And what are the actual disagreements with Russian gas exporters?
The discussion will be moderated by Dr Andrei V Belyi, Senior Researcher at the UT Institute of Government and Politics.
The public lecture takes place in the framework of the Jean Monnet European Module on energy and climate policy.
