More than 850 students from all over the world have registered to attend the five-week course, making it one of UT’s most popular courses in terms of registered attendantsAccording to Ms. Beitane, the demand for the MOOC was higher than expected: “Such a wide interest proves that there is a global demand for better and more informed understanding of EU-Russia relations as a fundamental perspective to comprehend international developments in today’s changing world”.

The course combines academic quality with insights from “real world” decision-making by including contributions from Members of the European Parliament, the Union of European Federalists, the Estonia-Russia CBC programme, and the Barents Cooperation alongside lecturers from Tartu, Tampere, Georgetown, and Tbilisi State Universities.

Massive open online courses (MOOCs) are courses aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web, thus making learning accessible for everyone irrespective of the location or educational background.
