Dr. Roman Kalytchak

 

Dr. Roman Kalytchak is assistant professor at the Department of International Relations and Diplomatic Service, Ivan Franko National University in Lviv, Ukraine, where he also obtained his doctoral degree (candidate) in political science in 2003. His previous research focused on European regionalism and the EU’s relations to the Eastern neighbourhood countries. While at the University of Tartu, he pursues a research project entitled: “Learning Europe from Europe? The impact of EU universities on higher education in the post-Soviet space.” He explores and analyzes EU universities’ role in the development of higher education in the former Soviet Union, focusing on the case of the University of Tartu and its activities in the field of curriculum development in Europe-related studies. Moreover, he examines UT’s cooperation with universities from the former Soviet region, including study formats such as the IMESS network and other university programmes.
