Dr. Pertti Joenniemi

Pertti Joeniemi is a senior research fellow at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) in Copenhagen. He holds a PhD from University of Copenhagen (1995). His current research focuses on ‘Borderscapes’ and here particularly on twin-cities such as Narva/Ivangorod as well as on ‘Russia’s Counter-Hegemonic Representation of Democracy’, in the framework of which he closely collaborates with CEURUS scholar Prof Viacheslav Morozov.
While at CEURUS, Dr. Joenniemi will lecture in the framework of the Baltic Sea Region Studies study programme about the Kaliningrad region as well as conduct further research on his main projects, including a study trip to Pskov. Contact: pjo[at]diis.dk |
