Dr. Anke Schmidt-Felzmann

Anke Schmidt-Felzmann is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science at Stockholm University with a research grant from Swedish Research Council. Her current research focuses on the European Union and its member states’ foreign policies and especially the areas of energy policy and trade relations with third countries as well as on external human rights and democracy promotion. Her post-doctoral research
project investigates why, how, and to what extent national foreign policy choices affect the EU´s capacity and effectiveness as a global actor in which Russia is a case study. While in Tartu, she will give several lectures on EU-Russia relations and will present her research “The EU’s performance in its relations with Russia” in the framework of the Institute’s research colloquium.
