Dr. Nelli Babayan

 

 

Nelli Babayan, PhD, is a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Government and Politics/CEURUS, University of Tartu. She received her PhD in International Studies from the University of Trento, Italy (2012) and an MA in Political Science from the Central European University, Hungary (2005). She is the founding co-editor of the Interdisciplinary Political Studies journal. Her main research interests are in democracy promotion and democratization, EU and US foreign policies, and politics of the South Caucasus. In 2005-2008 she was Training Department Manager for Core Media Support Program for Armenia implemented by IREX and funded by USAID. In 2010 she was visiting researcher at the Center for International and Comparative Studies, ETH Zurich and think-tank FRIDE, Madrid. While at CEURUS, Dr. Babayan will teach an MA course on “Democracy Promotion and Democratization: the case of the South Caucasus.”
