Prof. Jüri Allik


Jüri Allik is Professor of Experimental Psychology at the Department of Psychology, University of Tartu. He holds two Ph.D.s in psychology from the University of Moscow, Russia (1976) and from the University of Tampere, Finland (1991). He is a member of the Estonian Academy of Sciences and a foreign member of the Finnish Academy of Sciences and Letters. He is a receiver of the 1998 and 2005 Estonian National Science Award and served as a Chairman of the Estonian Science Foundation. He has published more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed international journals which have been cited more than 3000 times.

With colleagues from the Department of Psychology, University of Tartu, Jüri Allik and Anu Realo initiated a major study of personality traits and national character in Russia (The Russian Character and Personality Survey) as well as in the six neighboring countries of Russia, which has resulted in a number of international publications.
