Dr. Eva-Clarita Pettai
|Eva-Clarita Pettai (née Onken) is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Government and Politics, University of Tartu. She obtained her PhD in political science at the Free University of Berlin (Germany) in 2001. A German by nationality she has lived and worked in the Baltic states since the 1990s and is working in Estonia since 2004. She is author of Democratizing History in Latvia. Civic Consciousness and the Politics of History in re-independent Latvia (2003, in German). Her most recent publications include a co-authored study on Transitional and Retrospective Justice in the Baltic states (Cambridge UP, 2015, with Vello Pettai) and an edited volume on Memory and Pluralism in the Baltic States (Routledge, 2011). She has also authored several articles and book chapters about the politics of history and memory and transitional justice in the post-communist space as well as on historical commissions.
