Birgit Poopuu was a PhD student at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies, University of Tartu, during 2010-2016. She has a Master’s degree in International Relations from Tallinn University (2010). Her main research interests revolve around the EU’s foreign and security policy, identity, peace and conflict studies. Her doctoral thesis investigated the EU’s conflict resolution via its CSDP operations and missions. During the academic year 2011-2012 Birgit was a visiting research fellow at the University of St Andrews. Birgit was a member of the COST Action New Challenges of Peacekeeping and the European Union’s Role in Multilateral Crisis Management.
