Guest lecture by Elizabeth Horst on the Ukraine crisis

On Wednesday, 5 October, Elizabeth Horst, Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Tallinn, will give a guest lecture on the topic of “Lessons learned from the Ukraine Crisis“ in the framework of the course “Frontiers of Europe: Ukraine”. The lecture takes place at Lossi 36-214 at 16.15.

Prior to Tallinn, Elizabeth Horst worked for International Media Engagement in the Bureau of Public Affairs, where she spearheaded the re-launch of the State Department’s flagship Russian language account @USApoRusski on Twitter and Facebook. In 2011-2014, she served as Deputy Economic Counselor in Kyiv, where she managed a team focused on economic reform and business advocacy.  During the Maidan revolution and Russia-Ukraine crisis, she led the Embassy’s interagency task forces. Her previous overseas assignments included the U.S. military Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) in Qalat, Afghanistan; Moscow, Russia; Dushanbe, Tajikistan; and Lahore, Pakistan.
